Mnemonic about rape used in a Physics book.

by Meg on September 2, 2011

I came across this awful mnemonic via Reddit yesterday. “Blasphemous Boys Rape Our Young Girls But Violet Gives Willingly”  The OP (original poster) said it was from his friend’s book, but I have so many questions!  Like, when was this book published, what the heck were the authors thinking, and generally, W T F?  And to think, people don’t understand why Science isn’t friendly to women?  Oy.

EDIT**Found a few other variations – Pretty much any of these would have been better except the last two.  I also think most college students would prefer the one involving alcohol.  Also, the bit about “Victory Garden Walls” makes me think the origin of this was sometime around WWII – but still, does not make it any better or correct.
